Hedging Basket Optimization: $TRX Delisting and $XRP & $HBAR Integration into $Mony’s 15-Asset Architecture
In decentralized finance (DeFi), market infrastructure reliability and counterparty risk mitigation are paramount to maintaining algorithmic stability and long-term liquidity performance. As part of our continuous on-chain monitoring and risk management protocols for the Mony automated market-making product on the BNB Smart Chain (BSC), the ArdorBG team has completed a strategic reorganization of the backing asset basket: TRX has been permanently delisted due to external cross-chain bridge disruptions, and XRP and HBAR have been integrated, expanding the protective multi-asset reserve to 15 highly liquid backing assets.
“Eliminating cross-chain bridge failure points while onboarding battle-tested, high-liquidity assets reinforces Mony’s delta-neutral market-making model and ensures frictionless yield generation on BNB Smart Chain.”
1. De-risking Infrastructure: Why TRX Was Delisted
The decision to remove TRX from the underlying hedging basket stems directly from unstable and permanently halted cross-chain bridge routes between the Tron network and BNB Smart Chain. When bridge gateways face prolonged downtime or technical vulnerability, cross-chain assets are subject to severe liquidity fragmentation and settlement delays.
To insulate the Mony protocol from external bridge dependencies, potential wrapping exploits, and latency issues, ArdorBG executed a complete, clean exit from all TRX liquidity pools on BSC.
2. Integration of XRP and HBAR: Expanding to a 15-Asset Reserve
In place of TRX, the protocol has onboarded two enterprise-grade, high-volume assets: XRP and HBAR. This transition scales Mony’s backing basket to 15 backing assets, providing several distinct structural advantages:
- Institutional-Grade Market Depth on BSC: Both XRP and HBAR provide consistent on-chain liquidity depth with minimal slippage.
- Enhanced Arbitrage Frequency: The active trading dynamics across these pairs allow the protocol’s liquidity pool contracts to capture frequent micro-arbitrage fees during routine volatility.
- Superior Risk Diversification: Spreading the dynamic hedging weighting across 15 separate assets further dampens the impact of individual asset drawdowns.
3. The Unified Engine: Liquidity Pools, 15 Assets, and Dynamic Hedging
Unlike conventional grid trading mechanisms, Mony operates through a single, fully unified market-making pipeline where liquidity provision, asset hedging, and basket rebalancing function together within the same on-chain process:
- Autonomous Rebalancing: When any of the 15 backing assets appreciates in price (even by a minor percentage), a small fraction is automatically sold for $Mony. When an asset depreciates, it is bought with $Mony. This continuously accrues passive yields in both $Mony and the respective native asset.
- Native On-Pool Asset Hedging: Counter-balancing delta-neutral hedging positions are executed directly inside these 15 liquidity pools on BSC. This structure neutralizes broad crypto market downturns and secures market-making fee generation regardless of whether the wider market trends upward, downward, or sideways.
4. Active Circulation Withdrawal (No Direct Burning)
The protocol does not burn tokens. Instead, $Mony tokens withdrawn from active circulation via automated liquidity provision are reserved to provide deeper, institutional-scale liquidity at higher future price baselines. Because re-injected liquidity is deployed strictly at elevated price floors, deflationary pressure is fully preserved over time.
